Wingello Tigers 2002/2003 U14 Minor Premiers and Premiers
The Wingello U14 team defeated Moss Vale in their final at Bundanoon. Wingello won the toss and elected to bat. Opening batsmen Dean Armida and Greg Copeland got the side off to a good start and when Greg was dismissed for 18 the score was 1 for 44. Disaster struck when Matthew Jay was run out for 1 and with the score on 2 for 46 things were looking a little shaky. Andrew Benson and Dean put their heads together for a 136 run partnership before Andrew was out for 75. Dean continued to bat through the innings with support from Michael Sant (12), Karl Fenwick (9) and Shane Scott (8) before he was finally out for a patient 100. The Tiger Cubs were all out for 269. Moss Vale captain Duncan Urquhart bowled well for Moss Vale taking 4 for 43. Isaac Loader (2/36), Lee Doyle (1/21) , Jordon Snodgrass (1/36) and Leon Borebelly (1/19) were the other bowlers to take wickets.
Moss Vale were all out for 144 in their run chase. Duncan Urquhart starred with the bat scoring 64 but ran out of partners. Matthew Conquest (12) and Ben Hamilton (11) were the only other batsmen to reach double figures. Wingello bowler Grant Pike was rewarded for his consistent line and length by taking 4 for 13 off six overs. Andrew Benson, who captured 3 for 26, supported him. Michael Sant and Greg Copeland took the other wickets.
